In the fight against smallpox. About Mathias Nathanael Wolff's publication "Unterricht gegen die Kinder-Blattern"
Abstract
In the eighteenth century, knowledge about variolization reaches Europe. In Gdańsk Pomerania one of the first physicians who began to use it was a doctor and astronomer, Mathias Nathanael Wolff. The text discusses the publication he wrote "Unterricht gegen die Kinder-Blattern", which was published in Gdańsk. Its aim was to disseminate variolization by familiarizing readers with its history, execution and recommendations related to this method.
