Abstract
The article aims at presenting the results of a survey conducted among the directors of fourteen research medical libraries operating within KDBAUM. The survey examines the changes in the way the libraries operated and the activities they undertook as well as the restrictions on the services resulting from the declaration of an epidemic situation and the introduction of lockdowns. The survey covered, among other topics, the systems of services provided, the scope of the services performed, the tools used at work and in communication, both internal and external, the innovative solutions adopted, COVID-19 related risks for the libraries and librarians as well as COVID-19 cases and vaccinations. The beginning of the chronological scope of the study was set for 10–11 March 2020. Based on the results of the survey, it was concluded that libraries met the challenges that they faced while functioning during the pandemic crisis. The survey results also shows real threats such as declining number of visits and loans as well as reduction of employment.
