Summary: The objective of this article is to discuss the researcher profile available on the local website of the Polish Platform of Medical Research of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice (ppm.sum.edu.pl). The Polish Platform of Medical Research (Polska Platforma Medyczna, PPM) is a current research information system (CRIS) knowledge base based on the Omega-PSIR software developed by a team of IT specialists of the Warsaw University of Technology. Presentation of the scientific output and achievements of a researcher in CRIS makes it possible to aggregate in one area – the researcher profile – consistent information about the publications, citations, ministerial scores, collaborations or statistics. The value of the profile is determined by reliability of the presented information. It should be emphasised that when this article was developed, work was being conducted to improve the consistency and quality of data contained in the system, which are aggregated from external sources. The profile is not only used to showcase the researcher or university, but ultimately will also provide a set of data informing the bibliometric assessment.

Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest omówienie profilu naukowca dostępnego na lokalnej stronie Polskiej Platformy Medycznej Śląskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Katowicach (ppm.sum.edu.pl). Polska Platforma Medyczna (PPM) to baza wiedzy typu current research information system (CRIS), oparta na oprogramowaniu Omega-PSIR, które opracował zespół informatyków z Politechniki Warszawskiej. Prezentacja dorobku i osiągnięć naukowca w systemach CRIS pozwala na agregowanie w jednym obszarze – profilu naukowca – spójnych informacji o publikacjach, cytowaniach, punktacji ministerialnej, współpracy czy statystykach. O wartości profilu świadczy wiarygodność prezentowanych informacji. Należy podkreślić, że w trakcie powstawania artykułu trwały prace nad spójnością i jakością danych zawartych w systemie, które są agregowane ze źródeł zewnętrznych. Profil to nie tylko wizytówka naukowca czy uczelni, ale docelowo także zbiór danych stanowiących podstawę oceny bibliometrycznej.
